Thread: Egg won NO CONTEST PPI

Just a a Quick one to continue the good run of results from this forum.I took out an Egg credit card in 2006 with an online application and got in trouble paying back. I CCA,D egg hoping that the agreement was unenforceable (not something i would have done if i could pay but needed a way out)and recieved a tree,s worth of screen shots showing my application and T&C,S ETC which we enforceable .The screen shot showed a box stating payment protection which was ticked(advice from this forum stated that pre 2007 the PPI box was pre ticked for these on line applications and i honestly did not know i had this ) i wrote to egg and stated that i did not and would not have chosen this service. I wrote with a template letter only stating that i did not know i had this PPI
15 nov a letter stating they were looking into my complaint and would reply within 8 weeks as stated
18 nov a letter saying we are refunding all your PPI reypayments with 8% Intrest
RESULTS DUE TO THIS FORUM AND THE GREAT HELP THANK YOU EVERYBODY

And another, monument have just agreed to repay half of the PPI or reypayment plan as they call it. I only wrote 1 stern letter to them and they caved in so go for it peeps

I purchased the above policy from you in / / but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reason
　
　
This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as
· having recently looked at the paperwork for my credit card I now realise that I have been paying for insurance that I did not know I had taken out so could not have been explained to me.
· The Credit agreement sent to me as requested has a pre ticked box for the purchase of card repayment protection insurance WHICH I DID NOT TICK or want


Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
　
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman AS NUMEROUS OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE to investigate my complaint.
