Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm new to this forum and new to this whole idea of reclaiming bank charges.
I'm having problems with A&L too, I'm sick of being charged for paid items when sometimes the account has been overlimit for only a few hours before I've paid money in to cover the DD's etc.
I'd appreciate any advice and/or feedback from anyone whose taken on the A&L and some guidance on what to do first and which office to write to.
I've had the usual letters from the Bootle Customer Service centre saying that the charges were fair etc. What should be my next step?
And most importantly, have you had a squint at the faq's?
I suggest you become totally comfortable with the whole claiming thing before you proceed any further, and make sure you open a parachute account too.
From what you say, I gather you have already made a preliminary request for your charges back. If so, when you are sure you want to proceed, the next step will be the letter before action.
I came across the forum and site last week, I didn't know that it was possible to reclaim bank charges in this way.
I'll take your advice and have a good look around before I begin my claim, I need to find out what charges have been applied and when before I go any further anyway.
I certainly feel more confident about taking them on since finding this site and hope for a positive outcome.
