Welcome Finance Have Sent Cheques But Im Worrying Advice Please
Hi everyone as you will know we won our claim for refund on two mis sold PPI's from welcome finance, well i called them today to ask if there was any update on when we would receive our funds. They advised the cheque has been issued and was sent to ISMART on 11th November 2009 by 2nd class post. Great just in time for xmas.
So I called ISMART to ask if they had received they cheque (which they havent) but as welcome did send it by 2nd class I will it till wednesday. Anyway I asked how long after they recieved it, when would we receive it, their reply was once they process the cheque take their cut which alarm bells started ringing in my head I says why would you process the cheque its not written to you but they told me in all claims they ask for refunds to be written out to them, anyway they then went on to say we havent received your acceptance form well thats because it went to welcome finance and I telephone them at this time and advised them to which they agreed. Now they says they have to send me another acceptance for me to sign and return then they will issue my funds when they process them, im getting confused why all this fuss its my refund. So I decided no not happy and in doubt so called Welcome finance back and they advised they dont write cheques out to the third party, they cheque will have been written out in my name.
ISMART have issued their invoices to me which we received last week this is why I was confused they are asking me to pay the invoice but tell me different when I call them weird
Can anyone help out with this Im worrying now that they will try and be funny? Any experiences with using a company to claim your refunds????
I will again call them on Wednesday surely they'd have received it by then??? On my opinion they'd receive the cheque (in my name) get it send to me asap as they will in return want their fees paid dont you think???

We mainly never hear anything good abou claims companies and frankly we don't understand why people go to them for such simple matters as PPI claims.
Please don't pm me about specific questions unless you have posted and it has not been dealt with or unless the matter is confidential. Please include a link to the post you want me to look at. If you have received a defence, contact me.

If they're such simple matters why is there an absence of assistance on the PPI forum ?

Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc
Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
Re: Welcome Finance Have Sent Cheques But Im Worrying Advice Please
I suppose all I can do is keep chasing them till they issue my refund. I feel reassured in a way as welcome finance did state the cheque is written out to me so in a way the only way Ismart will get their fees is to send me my refund asap!!!!

Do you reckon welcome will do this??? I telephone welcome yesterday and they advised cheque was made out to me and they dont make them out to 3rd party, but sent it to them as they are the ones who claiming for me!!! Im not sure if welcome would do that cuase it would cost them to cancel a cheque, wouldnt it????

If the cheque is made out in your name and signed by welcome then there is no way Ismart (Ismart will get their fees is to send me my refund asap!!!!) can cash a cheque made payable to you in your name.
Because you used a third party, you should confirm with Welcome that the cheque was indeed made payable to yourself but sent to the third party. Then contact Ismart the third party to confirm they have received a cheque from Welcome.
Ismart should then forward the cheque from welcome directly to you and then provide you with an invoice for their services.
I do not normally giving advice where third parties are involved as this is a do it yourself site. However I hope this helps to resolve the issues you have.
