Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi, i'd really be grateful if someone could have a look at my attached CCA from Egg. I also received pages and pages of terms and conditions that had been downloaded from the internet by the looks of them and printed on Egg headed paper.
I opened the account in August 2003 and paid off the account in April 2004. The account shows on my credit file as settled in May 2004.
I stupidly contacted Egg a few months after this and asked for the account to be re-opened and they sent me a new card. I can't recall if it was a different card number though.
In 2007, i was advised that the credit facilities had been withdrawn and i could only repay the account to clear the balance each month.
I have recently got into quite serious financial difficulties and offered Egg a Full and final settlement of half of the outstanding balance but this was refused.
I'm not sure on this one - I don't know much about Egg for a start.
I'm wondering if they should have issued a new agreement as the old one was closed.
Hopefully one of the *eggsperts* will pop in soon.

Well you have the whole Limits argument for a start. I believe there may be an interest issue. And as rmw said, if the account was settled and if the account was re-opened then they surely need a new agreement.
