Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been paying an old Barclaycard to Mercers for years and requested the CCA. Received just terms and conditions booklet so sent the AID letter and have continued to pay a nominal payment. Account has now been passed to Credit Solutions who are demanding payment!!
Shall I send them a copy of the AID letter or a bemused letter?? Thanks.

Hi again, well Mercers also sent my other account to Moorcroft even though it is also IN DISPUTE. I wrote to both Moorcroft and Credit Solutions last week recorded delivery with the bemused letter.
Today, I have received another letter from Moorcroft threatening court action after 7 days. Now I know it can just be a threat, but as it seems they are not going to pass back to Mercers any time soon, do I need to do anything else or just ignore their letters now?
I have now received a letter from Credit Solutions in response to my bemused letter sayin that if I require clarification of the debt then I need to send them a £1 cheque. I have no intention of doing this as I CCA's Barclays some time ago and they had nothing.
Shall I just ignore this letter again or write back saying what?? Is this a usual reply to a bemused letter? Thanks.
Write to CSL and tell them you have already CCA'd BC who failed to provide you with your credit agreement. You are now therefore lodging a formal complaint with the fos to get BC to provide the agreement.
Accordingly, any further collection activity will be a clear breach of the OFT Guidelines on debt collection and you will also report CSL to the FOS for investigation.
You should now contact the FOS as suggested in post #3 above.

Hi, I did consider writing back about the previous failed CCA request but thought that would be contradicting my bemused letter about the debt.
Anyway, I have received another letter today from Power 2 Contact advising me of a visit in the next few days to collect the debt obo Credit Solutions. I am not going to just ignore this because they made an attempted visit to my house a few weeks ago re another debt.
I am going to send them a letter rejecting the visit and reporting all 3 parties to the OFT ..... any other suggestions please???

Thanks, I have used this template. It's just like chasing your tail at times. Oh, I have just realised that Power 2 Contact and Credit Solutions are the same, well it's exactly the same address!
This company (No Power 2 Contact, Credit solutions holdings ltd, Credit solutions, run by Mr William Hugh Pierce,) has been referred to the OFT. It is well worth your time reporting them to trading standards and the OFT as it will add weight to the ongoing investigation.
I have now received another letter from Credit Solutions asking me to send them more details of my dispute and asking for confirmation as to whether or not I have sent £1 to OC for my CCA. (Obviously I have and they sent me a terms and conditions leaflet), but all I have ever sent DCA is the bemused letter and then a letter advising them that I have reported them to fos, so I don't want to start telling them now that I have any other knowledge of the debt, or do I????
Also, there was a card with my address on from P2C advising of a visit next week.
Obviously this company are not bothered by a report to the FOS.....anything else I can do? Please help.

That is one of Mr Pierce's usual tactics...Take no notice of it.
If you haven't rung trading standards, now is the time to do it. If you would like me to PM the details of the Trading Standards officer to you who has been dealing with CSHL for me then let me know.
Hi, unfortunately their cards are not always threats as I did have an attempted visit from someone at P2C a few weeks ago for another account. I am more than happy for you to PM me but have you had any progress yourself by actually reprting them?

Hi, although I have not received anything from P2C or Credit Solutions for a few weeks, I have now received a letter from Barclaycard in response to my letter of complaint also advising them that I had reported them - their response is that they are in the right to keep chasing me and will ask P2C to come back on the scene! Unbelieveable when they cannot provide an agreement from approx 15 years ago and up until now I have always paid them. Anything else I can do or just sit and wait?? Thanks.
