Exclamation I dont know what to do!

Hi everyone, Im new here! So hello again!

Right, I need a bit of advice on things, so i think im in the right place!

I served in the Royal navy for 8 years, joined when i was 16 in 2001. When i was 18 i got a personal loan from Halifaxicon for £1000. A credit card came with this, I told them that i didnt want it, but they told me I had to take it to take the loan out. paid the loan off fine no late payments, done within a year lovely lovely, this credit card had haunted me ever since though. The balance went up all the time without me knowing as I was at sea a lot and mail was going to my parents address so as you can imagine been abroad a lot i spent it without knowing, this card has been maxed out since i got it, i have paid it off lots of times and ended up spending again so i have been paying a lot of intrest over all the years i have had it, i know its my fault i should never have use it be thiats what happened. Since i ;left the Navy i have had trouble getting a job due to there not been any but now have got a job on minimum wage and havent been able to pay what they are asking for so i have missed about 7 payments in all to my credit card, a Natwesticon account and 2 Halifax current accounts overdrafts. I seriously cant afford this. They are sending awful letters to my parents house and even phoning the next door neigbours pretending to be a parcel delivery. I havent responded to any of them since i missed my first payments but im getting scared now on what will happen to me. I have moved into a new flat of my own for the first time since been in the navy and i am now worried that when i have to register on the electoral role they will come and find me and demand money off me that i havent got. Im sorry for the huge post but your the only people i feel i can turn to now for help. Dont know if i have given you enough information, if you need anymore off me then please post back, im really worried! People called the Scottish beureu of Investigations are now looking for me!!!!! Thank yuo again for any help and advice!!!

do you have any evidence that they are obliged you to take out the credit card in addition to the loan?

I think that you should spend time reading up on the various issues on this forum. This is a large forum and there is a lot of information. It will take you a good several days that you will eventually get the hang of what is going on and what you can do.

I suggest that you start off by starting new threads in each form relating to the particular bank account or credit card that you have. This will make it easier for people to help you.

The second thing to do is to start finding out about SARicon, what they mean and how to go about them.

Send an SARicon to each one of the companies that you are dealing with and find out all of the details of the charges -- including late payment charges -- which have been levied against you since you still have started dealing with them all the way back to 2001.

The companies have 40 days to respond. During this time you will have ample time to start using the forum and start understanding what your next step is

Please don't pm me about specific questions unless you have posted and it has not been dealt with or unless the matter is confidential.
Please include a link to the post you want me to look at. If you have received a defence, contact me.
