Partial refund offered, rejected it, want the whole lot!
My fiancee is claiming for over 1K in charges, we had a call from Natwest offering us £268 ! we rejected it and said we would like the whole amount, they are putting the offer in writing.
This offer was from our original letter so we have not even had to send an lba.
Do we have to send and LBA before we go legal and give them another 14 days for the full amount or shall i presume they are not going to give it us?
Re: Partial refund offered, rejected it, want the whole lot!
After sending the pre lim letter, i have sent in my lba. The more time you give them shows that you are allowing them to pay, i saw on the MCOL help site the other day. You have to show that you are giving the person/organisation enough time to pay up. but once they reject your offer you can proceed without the 14days time limit.
My advice is only my opinion, I am not a legal expert.

Did they awknowledge your first letter or offer you anything?
I was thinking that cos they have said no this all we are prepared to offer, it would not make much diffrence to send the lba as they have already told me there intentions.
If the course of action is LBA whatever there respose then thats fine buit i did not want to waste another 14days!!
Re: Partial refund offered, rejected it, want the whole lot!
You will need to send the lba so you are giving them all reasonable chances to settle before court.
