Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm so angry with Abbey, or rather, the woman in my local branch. Last week I took in 4 standing order mandates to be set up on my account as it's a relatively new account and I hadn't at that point set up internet banking.
They were all due to go out today and this morning having received my registration details for internet banking, I logged in and they hadn't been set up!!
I later went into my branch and they had no record of my giving them the mandates, I described the lady I gave them to and was told she was on holiday. They looked for the mandates and went through loads of files, and couldn't find them.
So if I get a late payment charge from British gas or any of the other payees, it will be Abbey's fault!! I told her I would be complaining but I'm not really sure what to write.

Not only that, but in the 6 months we've been with them, they've accidentally cancelled 2 of our direct debits, resulting in our energy company threatening to disconnect us and we had no idea, then there was that time a couple of weeks ago when there was a 2 delay in credit going into the account, you might have heard about it on the news. And of course, the incident with the standing order. So, needless to say, not happy with them.
