Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Back in July we purchased a car from Carcraft, we set the finance up with them to be paid back over 3 years.
When we picked the car up all our paperwork said 4 years so we complained and they said it was a printing error. They redid the papers and we all signed them and we have copies of them.
When we recieved our paperwork from Barclays they have set the finance up over 4 years.
We have complained repeatedly and they just keep saying oh we will call you back once we have looked at it but no call ever arrives!
Barclays have said they cant do anything as it needs to be carcraft that confirm they have set the finance agreement up incorrectly.
Is there anyone we can complain to other than carcraft?
I am at a point now where I feel like taking the car and saying to them have it back and cancel the whole thing!
Make a formal written complaint to both of them and set a realistic time scale for a response. Keep it factual and to the point and try to keep it impersonal i.e. on xx date your company did/said this or that. Send Barclays a copy of the agreement you have set up over three years. At the end, set out clearly what you want them to do.
