Please bear with me as this is my first post.
I booked a van with the above company on 31st October for this Saturday 7th November.
When I called the company asked me to pay a £50 deposit, which would be refunded when the van was taken back. I paid it and went on with my business.
The van was to move my brother and unfortunately due to work commitments it's no longer possible for this Saturday.
I called the van company and they cancelled, but refused to give me my deposit back even though I'd given 48 hours notice. The deposit is actually higher than a days rental for the van, so said I'd take the van instead. The man agreed at first, then became irate when I asked for a receipt. He told me not to pick up the van and hung the phone up.
When I called back a female member of staff answered and said it'd be up to Barry (the man I'd spoken to previously) and he'd gone out of the office.
Every time I call they now hang up the phone on me - even though I'd agreed to take the van and at least have something to show for my £50.
I'm really annoyed that they think they can get away with this and not sure which direction to go in next.
