Hello
I would be very grateful if someone would be able to help me because i am not very good at writing letters.
Ile start with the initial issue i had...I recently seperated from husband, had a baby, etc etc and had to give up full time work for less hours, needless to say that creates another set of problems...financial ones.
I became aware some time ago that Freemans Mail order company had added an insurance policy to my account without my knowledge. I contacted them and was told it was called complete care and is in place to cover me should i not be able to meet my monthly payments. That was all the information i recieved from them for a policy of £47pm.
approx 9-10mths later is when i had to give up my full time job because i just coulnt manage on my own with 2 children and working full time as well. y son being only afew months old.
I contacted Freemans and a few weeks later was sent a policy from Complete Care and having read it , would appear that i am not covered after all. Sent a letter to Freemans and recieved one back saying that if i wasnt happy with the insurance then i should complain to the. I think they have just fobbed me off because they completley missed the point i was trying to make and perhaps i didnt state it clear enough.
I then became aware having checked my credit report that they have 3 accounts for me. albeit one is with OLI the sister company.
OLI...have all my details correect....DOB , account opening date..etc etc.
However...One account is for zero and the other account is active. For both of these accounts they had my DOB incorrect and the start date i opened the account was a couple of years prior.
Please can anyone offer any advice on what i need to do now and how i would word my letter to them.
Are you wanting to put in a claim for mis selling a PPI policy ?
If so, do you have all your statements which details the policy premium and how much you have paid for this product.
You say that Freemans "just added" the policy to the account. In which case, if you didnt ask for it, or it wasnt explained to you properly then you will need to write and ask them for the premiums to be returned.
I will try and find a letter for you.

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Hello
Thank you for your reply.
What im asking really is who do i need to deal with,
I sent a letter to Freemans and had a reply saying if i had a problem with the insurance i should contact the insurance company......but my problem is the fact that Freemans were the ones who applied the insurance to my account and it appeard on my statement. I telephoned and queried the charge and was told it was an insurance cover which covers both replacement of any lost, stolen, broken items from Freemans and also should i not be able to meet my monthly payments for whatever reason then they would be covered under this. This was the only information given to me. I have never made a claim but my circumstances changed this year with having a baby, seperating, moving house, etc etc etc , my baby was also a v poorly child at hospital all the time and this has left me financially worse off as i have had to reduce my work to part time to be able to manage. Needless to say my priorities on a part time wage is my mortgage. Freemans have made contact approx 7-8 times a day via telephone and left messages but i refuse to speak with them again other than via letter so there is no further confusion.
Just to confuse matters i was having a look at my credit report and noticed that Freemans have 2 accounts for me which both hold the incorrect information which i never gave to them and they have certainly never asked for it and they also have the wrong dates when i joined them. Im not sure if this is important or not which is why im asking.
Many thanks for your help.
Nicola
I think if it was Freemans who added the insurance cover without your permission or discussion then you need to go to Freemans. In the first instances.
As for the two accounts, you will need again to contact Freemans and ask what they are playing at.
I would put these as two separate issues ie two different letters or it might confuse matters for both of you
Still looking for a suitable letter for you. I will post something tomorrow.

I believe I have been mis-sold a payment protection insurance policy and would like to request a full refund of my premiums, plus interest paid.
This premium just appeared on my statements (PUT HERE THE DATE YOU FIRST NOTICED IT). This was without any reference to myself as to whether this insurance was either suitable or required.
When I did query it you advised I needed to contact the Insurance Company. I now discover this was incorrect advice. Freemans arbitrarily added this cover, not an Insurance Company.
I am requesting a full refund of all my insurance payments, plus interest, which total [£ xxx].
If I do not receive a favourable response from you I will pursue this claim through the Financial Ombudsman.
The highlighted part, if you are unable to work out how much the total premiums paid from statements already in your possession then you will need to first send a Subject access request to Freemans, asking for the statements. This will cost you £10.00
