    Default Hfc - Ppi

    After 2 1/2 years of wrangling and threats of further actio HFC have finally decided to pay back the PPIicon. We did have to go through the fosicon to get anywhere but at least we finally got them to admit it was misold.

    We don't know the figures yet so I won't organise the party. But we wouldn't have got through it if we hadn't have logged onto CAGicon.

    We had paid of this loan, but were able to prove that the PPI was misold.

    My Marbles (HFC) complaint has been with the fosicon since Jan 08, it has just come to the top of the pile

    I will be watching your thread to see how this unfolds, and how they work out your refund/interesticon

    I have no legal training and the advice I offer is a matter of support. Before you commit to any Legal action you are advised to contact a qualified legal practitioner.

    Bank charge successes:
    Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.
     HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
     RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
    2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
    PPI Successes
     PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
    2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
    2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement

    PPI Claims ongoing with:
    Cap one Now with the FOS
    Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
    LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

     1 Complaint not upheld by FOS they said it was ICO issue. Complaint upheld by ICO. See this..

    Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

    We Finally received a offer today from HFC. They have made an offer of £1566. Which they will pay of the outstanding balance of £2660.00

    About a month ago Hfc rang us with a settlement figure of £1330 50% of the balance remaining. Can we ask for the settlement figure to be taken into account when this money is paid? We were told by the person that rang that the figure would stand for 3 months. We rang and cheked on Sunday and we were told that if we pay the account of in th next 3 months we will only have to pay £1330.00.

    Are we bring cheeky in asking for the settlement to be taken into account. This would mean we could clear it in full and have a small amount left.

    I think they can only offset against the balance if the account is in arears.
    Ask for the money to be paid back to you, not the acount. Then consider you options regarding offering a Full and finalicon offer.

    Was this a loan or a credit card?

    We received notification on Tuesday this week from HFC. They have cleared the balance on my husbands loan and the balance remaingin will be sent to us. I am amazed because I never thought they would agree to our terms.

    I hve gined a little faith in they sytem this week.

    Finally after months of waiting we received a cheque for the remaining blance after Hfc cleared our loan in full. It show persistance has worked for us.
