Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Ill be brief..... I have a ltsb credit card and recently have been put onto short time at work. I missed a payment so after they sent me notice of this i told them i did not have the money. They then proceeded to transfer it from a joint account in my and my wifes name also with them.
1/can they do this? i wrote to them and asked them to refund it and was basically told they could do whatever they wanted despite my wife not being responsible for the card debt, but the joint account is half her money so technically she has had to pay half (i suppose)!!
2/ Is this not a breach of The data protection act ?as they have basically informed my wife by way of joint bank statement that i have not made payment on the card debt by showing this transaction on the statement.
