Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Following on from the failure of being able to reclaim my PPI from Endeavour / Freedom Finance / Bespoke, see here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...ans-ppi-2.html, I am now even more determined to get my monies back from Citi Financial.....
I already have my agreement at hand so dont feel the need to request my SAR, so here goes and finger's X'd Ill have more luck with this lol.
The loan was taken out (jointly with an "ex" girlfriend) in May 2004 for £3.5K over 3yrs, with the addition of PPI @ £927. It was paid off in full on the 19th October 2004!
Now when the loan was taken out we were asked about the PPI, I have a copy of the Q&A sheet that was completed when we saw the advisor and it does "Clearly" state that I explained my situation (full pay for 3 months and Life Assurance with another company) but still ended up walking away with Accidental & Sickness cover?!?
I will get my "I want my money back" letter posted today and will keep this thread updated for reference purposes
In the middle of dealing with CitiFinancial myself and, having seen other posts, note that it's best to send any correspondence to their Registered Address (this is where they are OBLIGED to receive any mail and cannot dispute not receiving it) - make sure you send it by Special Next Day Delivery (I don't think we can rely on Recorded Delivery at the current time!!):
CitiFinancial Europe plc
PO Box 49944
LONDON SE5 7YG
Good luck - I wait with baited breath to see how you get on!! I've had to pay them back over £50,000 in total, so I'm hoping to win my PPI claim (and then emigrate - lol!!!).
Well I posted it yesterday to the Reading address but if I dont hear anything back within a few weeks then will resend my request to the London Address....
Only concern I have with this claim is that it is from May 2004 :-/ Before new regulations came into force....
Well "Fingers X'd" and hopefully I can get a little back from the 50% APR they charged me when I first took the loan out "Robbing B@5**rds!"
Good Luck with your claim, and Ill be following your progress.

They acknowledge my complaint and aim to have it all delt with within 8 weeks....
Keep them to the dateline 8 Weeks and then fos or Court
They will try and delay though they all do as it lets them hang on to your money for a few days or weeks longer. Kind of sad really .
Keep a positive attitude and keep pressing for your money.
I have reclaimed over £18.5k back so far and looking for more. PPI was a massive rip off and the banks call it Retail Regulatory Risk well the risk has been put into the open and the consumers are getting their money back

That was easy enough.... received a letter from the yesterday along with a cheque for £390.
Just another quick question though before I say "Thankyou" to them...
I initially took out the loan on the 25th May 2004, the amount borrowed was £3500.... on top of this I paid "Optional Insurance" @ a cost of £930 + and arrangement fee of £100.
Now of course £390 is not £930, but I am guessing that as the loan was paid off early (19th October 2004) now have only received this amount because the insurance was also cancelled along with the loan? or is this a little game that they play?!?

Obviously I have filled in the relevant details but because I paid the loan off early, I only made 5 monthly payments on the loan then it was settled.... for the life of me though I am not certain what the settlement fee was but know it was more than £3500.
The letter I got from them last week says....
Insurance Premium - £927.43 interest on the Premium based on 40.54% for the life of the loan - £151.91
Less the rebate given for insurance cancellation - £690.70
Total Refund amount - £388.64
The PPI Calculator is telling me that I should claim the other £600 plus interest of £1000's :?
Or are they right to just pay the £388.64 because the loan was paid off after 5 months?

Thanks for your time, Im slowly getting more and more clued up and have been reading round but cant find any posts with any relevance, especially as I paid the loan off early.
Im guessing I will also need to send them a letter to say "Thankyou" for the partial refund and my acceptance of it only being a "Partial" settlement.
The figures that the PPI Calculator was coming up with a figure of about £7K.... surely that cant be right?!? :-/
