    Default Who Can Send a Deault Notice?

    Latest letter from Barclaysicon says..

    ''You must make your payment or we'll instruct Mercers Debt Collections Ltd., to send you a default notice in accordance with our rights under section 87[i] CCA 1974''

    Mercers are part and parcel of Barclays but wouldn't a default notice have to come from Barclays themselves?

    What is section [i] of section 87?

    For a Default Notice to be compliant, it has to contain precise data set out in a precise format.

    Mercers haven't yet cottoned on to this and continue to issue dodgy DN's which only show BC's name but NOT their address.
