£25 admin charge for changing address with Budget Insurance
I am moving house and have been told by Budget that they will charge me £25 to let me tell them a new address for their records! I threatened to cancel the policy but was told I would have to pay a £25 cancellation fee if I did! What can I do?

Hi.
This morning I posted about Budget charging me when I moved house, albeit mine was car insurance. See the replies I have had on that thread. I complained via the Financial Ombudsman Service (fos) Financial Ombudsman Service
I suggest you visit the FOS web site and fill in a complaint form. My experience is that companies take complaints via the FOS more seriously than those direct from the public.

Hello again. I had a similar problem with Budget car insurance when I changed my address. I'm afraid that Budget only gave me my £35 fee back when I filed a claim at the small claims court. I know it might sound extreme but it's the only way. Please see my thread (also in this group) about my success; I'm afraid I do not know how to post a link to it.
Who knows, if enough people do the same, they might start lowering their charges?
You can file a claim within six years of the event (I think), so don't let the fact this happened last sumemr stop you.
