Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I am to start the process of reclaiming unlawful charges but need to have the DPA SAR sent for the bank to supply me the info......One problem, I have had more than one bank account with them and 2 in joint names...do I need to send £10 for each account or is this fee per each request regardless of how many accounts on the request.....Please could someone help me??????????
No the SAR is about data held on a subject in other words you.
In theory you can request all the data they hold on you with a single payment i believe and they should provide the data they hold on you in respect of the joint account (I think i read somewhere that they may edit the data to hide the data of other subjects if they feel its appropriate, not sure it would be relevant in your case though)
I believe that if you are an authorised signatory on the joint account and can operate the account without a second signature i think the theory goes that they should send you that info too.
However, some banks are being as obstructive as possible and they may insists on you providing a form of identity and the other persons signature.
What i did was send two letters and two cheques one for my account and one for our joint account. We botyh signed the joint account SAR.
I did it on the basis that i didnt want them to try to use any excuse to withold or delay my SAR request.
I would suggest that if moeny is tight try it with a single SAR with in one name but include all relevant accounts. If they reject the application in respect of the joint accounts then you have to decide how to proceed from there.
All JMHO i would suggest searching further on the site see if anything turns up that is definitive as Im only a lay person trying to help and understand.

If the account allows one or other to sign then you should be ok with a request.
Indeed some banks hide behind sections of the act and use that for stalling.
However in the main only Citi have been widescale with this.
The other one they use is section 7.3...........specific requests.
Just be clear that you are asking for all account transactional details in the form of either statements or intelligible data that shows all transactions.
Plus the manual intervened things if available.
