I have a 10 year loan with Welcome Finance back in 2006 and signed the agreement. Almost a year ago, I discovered PPI was added but it is only for 5 years even though the loan duration is 10years.
I wrote a letter to Welcome Finance who responded and said the PPI was with provided by BFS Direct, I send several letters to them and the disputed it was never mis-sold. I have since sent a complaint to FO, after waiting several month for the FO to look at my case, I received a letter today saying unfortunately, BFS Direct has now gone into administration and they are unable to help me further.
The FO has given me up to the 30 Oct 09 to respond if I am not entirely happy with their response. What do you think I should do?
I am still paying the loan to Welcome Finance with the PPI added on to the loan + interest. Is there anyway I can cancel the PPI and get a full refund of the PPI from Welcome Finance or can the FO help?

So, do you think I can get re-direct my complaint with the fos to Welcome Finance.
I just had a read of the documents we received from BFS Direct Ltd April 2006 for a unsecured Home improvement loan which was approved by Welcome Finance subject to signing and returning information. It looks as if BFS Direct was acting as a go between Welcome Finance as the loan was with Welcome Finance.
I also noticed even though the account is jointly the PPI was only for my husband.
Any help you can give would be appreciated as I am still paying this PPI which only covers 1 person and will expire in 2 years time even though the loan is for 10years. This can't be right surely. Many thanks.

Should I respond to the Financial Ombudsman Service who I had lodged my complaint with regarding BFS Direct? They had say I had up to the 30 Oct 09 to send a response regarding BFS going into liquidation?
My computer isn't working and I wasn't able to use the one from work because this site is accessible at work. I am borrowing my friends at the moment until I get mine repair.I still haven't heard from you since Oct... are you able to help me with Welcome Finance. Just to give you an update..

IMO complete the forms from the Financial Ombudsman Service and send them with copies of all of your letters sent and received from Welcome Finance. Let the fos adjudicators do the work for you. It will take some time but the FOS is upholding 90% of consumer complaints in the favour of the consumer

Bank charge successes:
Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.
HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.

PPI Claims ongoing with:
Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

Thanks for your help much appreciate. The forms came is to seek compensation as BFS is now in adminstration. I will complete the forms and send them off with the hope I get my money back with interest.
