Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been reading with great interest about the PPI reclaiming and have decided to have a go.
The problem is all the loans I have had (5 in total £28000) Have all been settled ok and I no longer have any details about the loan account numbers.
I have looked at my exprian report and can see the loan start date and settlement date and montlhy payments but nothing about the account numbers. How do I go about getting this information as all the template letters seem to have the account numbers.
Re: Lloyds and Black Horse PPI a Little help needed
Hi,
I am not sure whether you can SAR an account which is closed but all you would need is to supply your name and address and the timescales which you know as you have stated. Or what about going to the lenders and making a story up that you need proof that the debt has been repaid in full and ask them to quote the full details inc loan and a/c number.
Be as crafty as them and you will get a result like they do everytime

Just found this for you..
A Subject access request is a demand which you can make to any organisation to disclose any personal information which they hold on you. The right to disclosure of data is provided by the Data Protection Act.
There is no time limit. The organisation is obliged to reveal everything they have about you - which you ask for - as far back as you ask for.
There are very few exceptions. It does not matter whether the data is held on microfiche, in an archive, on tape, in a cardex system, in sound recordings or in screen notes.
Some companies are saying that they do not have to disclose where it would be difficult to do so - "disproportionate effort".
This is untrue. Disproportionate effort refers to something else under the Act.
If you are seeking bank charges information then you should ask for "all data held on you" and you should make it clear that you want everything as far back as it goes.
Your bank may try to kid you that they only have 6 years of data.
Do not be put off by excuses. Do not accept being fobbed off. It is not in your bank's interest to make full disclosure to you. This means that it is in your interests to get it.
If you have not started gathering your bank charges information yet, then you should start now.
There will soon be a big rush once the OFT test case has been settled.
Get all of your bank account informtion as far back as possible. At least as far back as 1995.
If your bank says that they don't keep data as far back as this, don't accept it. Be persistent. They've got what you need in some form or other. Re: Lloyds and Black Horse PPI a Little help needed
WOW
I have been searchig for 2 hours and all I have got is a headache.
I am looking to reclaim PPI on the above said loans and also I have decided to go after late payment charges on 2 different credit cards, Both settled (crap 1 and Monument,) I assume that this is the start letter I need to send to them all.
Re: Lloyds and Black Horse PPI a Little help needed
No,
That was to advise you that you can go back to year dot, so whatever they tell you do not accept it, you want all the info they hold and have ever held. Here is the letter, enclose a £10 anyway you want, send it recorded and keep the receipt....
By the way the only complication might be if you have moved address during the term in which you are enquiring, if so they may want proof.

Dear Sir/Madam, Please supply me with copies of all the data which you hold on me in relation to any matter and in any form and for any period of time. Please note that I require disclosure of any personal data which you hold on me for the entire period of my dealings with you. The Subject Access is not limited to my transaction history and it is not limited merely to 6 years of historical information. Additionally, where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff, or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention, or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my banking business with you If you are unable to supply this data because there has been no such manual intervention, then please be so kind as to confirm this in your response. I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10 and this allows you 40 days in which to comply. Furthermore, if I discover that you have levied disproportionate penalties or charges or PPI which are invalid under the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations against me, then I shall be reclaiming them together with any interest charges which you have levied on them. As it is your wrongdoing and mishandling of my account which has created the necessity for this Subject access request, I shall also be reclaiming the enclosed £10 DPA Subject access request fee. If there is specific information which you require in order to satisfy yourself as to my identity, please let me know by return. However, please note that the above address is the one which you normally use to communicate my private business to me and which you have hitherto found to be acceptable. Yours faithfully,
