Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I wonder if anyone can tell me if this is a fair offer and if not what sort of sum we are talking about.
In 2003 OH took a loan out for £15K repaying £288 & bits per month for the next 84 months at I think 7.9%. Approx 6 weeks ago a letter telling OH about annual statement dropped through door and in that is PPI which didn't have a clue about. At the time OH was self employed since retired on health grounds so should never have had it in the first place.
Wrote a letter to lender 3 weeks ago, reply came back today offering repayment of PPI Premium £3673.93 + PPI interest paid £1095.17 - Total £4769.10 - have tried to work calculator to no avail.
Did the Consumer Credit Agreement give a Breakdown of the Monthly payments ie what portion was loan and what was PPI?
By the way which bank?

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
Thanks for the link PF, is that total it gives realyy correct?
alanalana - can't find the original agreement but documentation from the Bank - Barclays shows PPI as £56-83 pcm & £232-05 as the loan.
PT
You should then IMO be reclaiming xx months at £56:83 Plus the Contractual interest they charged you on this (They will put up a fight on this issue but some financial organisations are paying up the Contractual Interest) Then you should also claim the statutory interest at 8% and if you go via the Financial Ombudsman Service with your complaint be sure to ask them to add on compensation...see this....
Make your case strong for compensation for all the distress due to claiming back you mis-sold PPI.
