Default part way through claiming bank charges

I got part way through claiming the bank charges, for a total of 556 then the test case happened and i got scuppered. <- july 07

however i kept getting charges, my pay cycle is four weekly which makes it seriously tough to keep an account in order.

so fast forward to July 09 and i decide enough is enough, im sick of being skint every month, A&L are putting charges in the day before i get paid so im getting stung month on month.
I requested my statements and moved my salary to a Barclaysicon account so A&L couldn't screw me over anymore.

I havent been able to access the account online for the last three months, thats a pretty dirty tactic in my book.

I'm about to write the financial hardship letter and retotal the charges up, I'll drop a reply back into this thread when i've done that.

if anyone who reads this has experience of writing a hardship letter to A&L then I'd appreciate them reading mine when I've written it.

    thanks

... and here is the standard approach to hardship applications as far as the site goes:

Don't bother -- or if you do, then don't get your hopes up. You are in employment. There are thousands of people who are not in employment and even on benefits who are not able to get the benefit of any hardship compassion from their bank. by and large the hardship provisions are a [problem] which are merely intended to make it look as if the banks really do have hearts of gold. If you believe this -- then you don't live on the same planet as the rest of us.

By all means make your hardship application but don't hold your breath and by and large don't count on it .

The best thing you can do is simply bring your charges claim up-to-date by adding all the other charges you put on including any interesticon to you have paid and then just sue them.

Please don't pm me about specific questions unless you have posted and it has not been dealt with or unless the matter is confidential.

    thanks for the replies.

@bankfodder - point taken. really want this sorted, sick of waiting for the waivericon to end, its been nearly 2.5 years now. i might be employed, but when they take 20% of what i earn every month its pretty hard to see how you're ever meant to get out of it. will send it as an update though.

To be considered for hardship you will need to provide some or all of the following

    1) Evidence of arrears in rent/mortgageicon payments, council tax and other priority debts

    2) Notification of some form of insolvency or court procedures

    3) Evidence of changes in lifestyle, including loss of employment; disability; serious illness; imprisonment; relationship Breakdownicon; death of a partner; starting a lower paid job; parental/carer leave; and starting full-time education

    4) Repeatedly exceeding a credit card or overdrafticon limit without agreement (and, in this regard, where a complainant has incurred over £500 in unauthorised overdraft charges in the previous 12 months, that is to be treated as indicative of financial difficulty).

I have included a link to the fsa waivericon below where you will find full criteria

    FSA Waiver
