    Question Speeding Tickets

    Hi all

I opened a letter today for a speeding ticketicon, the address was our company address, I cannot remember if the name is my husbands name or the company name - I will check this tomorrow. It's also addressed to our old office in which we moved out of 3 months ago - we have had our post redirected for 12 months.
I asked my husband about the date and location and he remembers that he and another member of staff went out on a job but he cannot remember who was driving.

Can anyone give any help here as if my husband pays the fine I think he'll loose his licence. My husband got his full motorbike licence 18 months ago and I think with the new laws if you ghet 6 points within 2 years he'll loose his licence. He has held his car licence for 30 years. Do they combian the licences for bikes and cars or are they kept seperate??

Should my husband ask for the photo taken to help prove who was driving or will he be charged for not changing his address??????

    Many thanks in advance

    Danler

The new driver rules will not apply to your husband; it doesn't apply for "new entitlements".

You can possibly try the Hamilton defence depending on the circumstances.

How long after the offence did you receive the NIP (ticket) and who is the car registered to?

As suggested also try PePiPoo or Traffic Answers as they are geared towards this sort of thing.

Other sites to look at are "Safespeed" & the "Association of british drivers"

i dont think this is true, i worked for a car hire company and got a speeding fineicon and when it came through to me i replied saying my brother was driving the vehicle and gave them his new address in canada they didnt pursue it any further!

    I QUESTION THEREFORE I AM!!

Unfortunately i'm not an expert in any given field legally and my advice and that of the Consumer Action Group and the Bank Action Group is given without prejudice and without liability so please if in any doubt whatsoever seek help from an insured qualified professional. It'll be whoever failed to provide the name. Generally the fleet manager. But they again may be able to defend it.

To clarify, they don't get points for speeding; they get points for failing to furnish.

Yep, this is true as I recently got 3 points (MS90), for being unable to furnish the police with the details of who was driving the car.

We where away on holidayicon & it wasn't until the court day when the police had enlarged the image & I could clearly see it was my brother-in-law, they dropped the speeding charge & they gave the points for failing to disclose

The person who gets the points in a Failing to Furnish is the person the Request is made to. If the request is made to a company because the company is the registered keeper it would be "the Company Secretary"

PUTTING IT IN WRITING & KEEPING COPIES IS A MUST FOR SUCCESS
