Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
What's the point of sending an lba to my bank when all they'll say is " Get Lost ", knowing that even if I start a case against them it will be put on hold pending the outcome of this mythical test case?
My bank, lloydstsb owe me £6k, and that's without any interest added. Is there really any point?
I'd like to know because like many people on here I'm having difficulties. I'm paying off a bank loan, which was taken out some time ago ( at a supposedly low rate of interest ) to pay off my overdraft, an existing loan and 2 credit cards. When I went to the bank, a few months ago, for help, they said that they couldn't help because I wasn't in arrears with my bank loan??????????? I wonder what would happen if I cancelled the DD for that loan.
I'm in arrears with Council Tax and they've just told me that they want an amount equal to 30% of my monthly disposable income. I just picked up a CCJ for the water and EDF just sent me a gas bill of £1968 for the summer period for 2 meters, one of which was replaced 5 years ago. Actually the EDF one gave me my first good laugh of the whole situation. Oh and we have Westcott after us. Because of the CCJ we now have Eurodebt and some other similar pond life ringing us.
Oh yes, I nearly forgot, there's the £50k that it looks like I've lost on a property deal in Spain.
Sorry if I'm having a whinge, I just need to get it off my chest and my wife is under enough stress as it is. God, if I wasn't depressed before, I am now after reading this.
I appreciate that, my point is what good is it if any case that I launch against them is stayed for an indefinite time. Also, when you consider the number of Lords involved with the banks, what are the odds of them finding against the banks.
Don't get me wrong, if there is a realistic chance of success I'll go for it, but I get this nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach that anyone who hasn't already recovered their stolen money has " missed the boat ". Or perhaps that's just me with my cynical and pessimistic head on.
