Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi folks, I have had 2 credit cards for about 8 or 9 years and I suppose I have been careless in not scrutinising my statements. After listening to a radio show recently I checked my statements and discovered that I have been paying PPI. It is a puzzle as I always refuse PPI with loans etc and would not knowingly take out such insurance.
Having read the forum extensively I believe I have a claim on a couple of fronts. I did not hear it fully but on the radio show I was listening to it mentioned that PPI does not cover PAYE contractors. Obviously it is a long road to success and my question really is what the best tack to take is.
Should I write to the CC companies claiming a refund based on the fact that the PPI was unsuitable as I was PAYE (have been PAYE for over 15 years) or should I wait until I get the SAR back and hit them with both barrels (so to speak)
I would wait till you get back you SAR then you can put together how much they have taken from you.
When you say you are a contractor, I take it you mean you are self employed?
If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.
Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any advice given, you should see a qualified solicitor
Thanks for the prompt response. I am not self employed, I work offshore through an agency and the work is generally on a 4 weeks 'on' and 4 weeks 'off' basis. I do no get paid when I am off and there is not a guaranteed monthly salary.
