Hi,
We purchased a car from fords of winsford in feb 2009 it had a garrentee for a further 1 month. Since we bought the car which is a Renault Scenic 2005 grande we have had problem after problem reulting in us spending around £800 so far on repairs. The car since we bought it has had a fault every month- windows wont work, drivers seat belt broke, battery goes flat, then battery needs replacing, car continuosly beeps, car alarm goes off all the time, the biggest and most costly problem has been the dashboard has broke (which for those of you who know with this kind of car all your speed/petrol/lights/ etc are all displayed on this ) It is currently with a renault dealer for this now. It had 1 previous owner and came with a glowing service history and MOT ! Obviously we are very annoyed and feel we have been mislead as to the quality of the vehical we purchased. We also have a 11month old daughter and one of the reasons we bought the car was because of its 5*safety record!! Not been the case. I want to send a more formal letter to their managment but wanted peoples opinons on this and if i have a leg to stand on before we quote sales of goods act etc. I have spoke to their after sales team numourous times but feel the car is just constantly in the garage and want them to take responsibility for cost etc and i dont feel it could have been MOT or serviced properly. Also if i speak to them again i may have a heart attack!!Advice please x
You shouldn't speak to them except by letter and recorded at that.
I don't think you will get anywhere without using the protection of the SOGA ie; not of satisfactory quality and not fit for purpose, (purpose being to drive it).
Go here - http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/ - and check the MoT validity and any advisories that were issued but not handed over.
