Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I could really do with some advice regarding BMS (booker management services) I have received three letters from them (attached) from an old Barclaycard debt. They have also been calling my sisters house where I have been living, I have now moved house. I am 95% sure that this debt is statute barred as I have been overseas for five years plus. I have checked my credit and it is all clear no CCJ or bad history. I am worried that they may go far a CCJ still reading some of these blogs.
Can someone advise me should I just stay quite, have not replied to letters or calls. Should I send for a CCA or Subject access request? Do they have to inform me if they plan to go for a CCJ?
