Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Early last year I started using paypal to buy stuff online. At the time i did not know about unpaid direct debit fees and went overdrawn. The charge incurred caused me to go overdrawn many more times as i was not informed of these charges.
In december i wrote to them and recieved under half back as a partial refund however i was just reading the info about bank charges on the moneysavingexpert website and noticed the legality of the situation and that i should not have declined their offer. i never replied to their letter that i recieved.
do you believe it would be possible to dispute the matter further?
yes, read the FAQs and the other material. It is important that you get a grip on the concepts yourself so that if you have to go to court (which you may well) then you will be able to argue competently.
cheers for the advice mate, i sent a letter on thursday and recieved a reply today. they will not pay the remaining 190.90 that they owe me and i have no marks against my credit rating.
i have sent a further letter explaining the legal contraventions and have threatened them with court.
