Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I took out an Egg loan back in 2003 for £2,886 with PPI of £665.25 with an interest rate of 9.51% APR 9.9% total £3,551.25 however in 2004 I refinanced to £5,000 with PPI of £1847.15 total £6847.15.
Like others I was believe I was missold as the inclusion of the PPI was the only way they'd let me have the credit.
I also had a credit card with them and paid it off and cancelled it after finding they were applying insurance to that as well without my permission.
Please can you advise if I'm eligible to claim anything back, and how do I go about it.
Your first port of call is the sticky threads at the top of PPI FORUM masses of useful info there.
As you refinanced do you know what settlement they gave you on the first loan - you will need this info to work your claim out because they will certainly try the goodwill offer trick on you
I would suggest you sent of an S.A.R letter first and get all the info on the loan accounts this will put you in a better position.
Again the stickys at the top you will find a template letter and instructions.
Send this off wait the required time then come back here then we can start you off on your claim.
Many thanks for your reply , I have copied and amended a S.A.R form and have sent if off, so lets wait and see what response I get, do you think the banks monitor these forums?
I have just recieved all my info from Egg from my S.A.R request, there is about a reams worth of paper and most of it seems to be copy of credit card statements, details of my loans and screen prints of online transactions.
Please can you advise what is my next step as I don't really know what I'm looking for in these documents apart from the details about credit and loan insurances how do I compile the information for a response letter.
Many thanks,
p.s
What a bummer about bank charges but I reckon theres some dodgy dealing going on there with the goverment now being involved with the banks.
