Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm new here today and have some questions that I'm sure are pretty basic, so apologies in advance if they seem a bit dumb!
1) I can't get a 'proper' current account so I only have a Solo card with Natwest. So I've been unable to view my credit file online with experian, they don't accept Solo, any ideas on a site to use where I can so this?
2) A lot of defaults on loans of mine have been on file for 5 years. I've been told that they generally drop off your credit report after 6 years. When defaults drop off does that mean that all traces of the debt drop off my credit file too? i.e. would I essentially have a clean credit file and be able to apply for credit again?
(I've turned my life around, now have a relatively good job and would never take another credit card EVER again - just that I would like to get a 'normal' bank account and look at a mortgage)
Q1 - You can print of a form for a statutory report from the experian website and send it to them with a postal order for your credit report. Its prob worth checking you files with Callcredit and Equifax too.
