Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hello all, where do I start, simply by saying don't give up the fight no matter what. I am about to start with my claim against Barclays, so I will kindly need some help and support, but before I engage you all for guidance, I do I again re-iterate, don't be bulldozed or swayed by any legal tittle tatter from them.
I work in the media industry and undertook a job for a hierarchy of 3 clients who were bigger than me, and well known, who after a simple job that went collosally and spectatculary pear shaped due to their oooohing and arring by undecisive minds, decided to shift all blame on me.
I didnt get angry or anything, but put in a full claim on moneyclaim, as I could happily stand before any judge in the country and explain the complacency of how things go wrong in the world of advertising.
Right on the last day and after the procedure of 3 letters and the wait that went with them, a huge media lawyer tells me I am to be paid in full for money owed and any expenses incurred and could I drop the matter and gave me the most unexcusable excuse for why I had been not paid.
It was funny... but I got paid. What was amazing to digest is that they paid a guy to tell me I was being paid, who probably cost them a small fortune... I mean have you ever seen a poor lawyer?
Anyway back to my dilemma, having decided to take a sabbatical from work for the last few months after my father was recently involved in a car accident, ( he's on the mend now ). I decide to catch up on some paper work which I hate and had never really scrutinised any cc or bank statements before, but my mum had a gander at them and blew her top off.:o
It would appear that I have been charged and this is just since January £600 in charges on my current account, and when I looked at last year..it was well over a £1k . Well my mum got her whip out and lashed me and pointed me towards this site..so I'm here and gosh where do I start from this.
I have already perused over peoples comments and stuff and for the last few hours here have amassed some serious wake up calls with the info here. I also recent paid all my credit cards off, but I know I had loads of charges on those too, and with Barclaycard I noticed they have a nasty habit of taking you over your limit with a penalty charge for lateness of paying and then whacking on another for being over the limit!!!!
So can someone kindly point me out to what is my first step. Is it to send a letter to Barclays in Leicester and not my branch to ask for statements from the last 6 years and say that under the DPA that they must be given to me, and do I send em a £10 to cover them to do this?
