Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Does anyone know if there is the possibility that a claim on a joint account and a single account (one of the joint account holders is the same as the single account holder ) could get amalgamated?
I presume that the claim for the joint account couldnt be amalgamated with my account because it would need my wifes agreement and funnily enough I know she wouldnt give her consent.
Abbey 1st claim -Charges repaid, default removed, interest paid (8% apr) costs paid, Abbey peed off; priceless
Abbey 2nd claim, two Accs - claim issued 30-03-07 Barclaycard - Settled cheque received
Egg 2 accounts ID sent 29/07 Co-op Claim issued 30-03-07
GE Capital (Store Cards) ICO says theyve been naughty
MBNA - Settled in Full
GE Capital (1st National) Settled
Lombard Bank - SAR sent 16.02.07

As far as I understand it yes there is a chance they could be amalgamated. I am not sure how it would work if the joint account was claimed in your wifes name and the single account in just your name, but thats unlikely to happen judging from what you have said, if both claims together would be over 5k then you may be pushed into fast track. Fast track if you lose, BIG IF, you would be liable for the defendants costs - but you know that already dont you....
thanks for that, i kinda thought that but wasnt sure how it might work if karne is right is there any way to prevent this apart from benig done?
Cheers all
