sorry about posting this in a new thread but i'm gobsmacked have a read of this:QUOTE
Hi
I am new to the forum & I am looking for some advice really, what it is, I had my account with the RBS for the past 7yrs in this time I had never gone over my overdraft limit or had a bounced cheque. I had a current account & a bills account. In May this year my children's after school club tried to cash 7 cheque's at the same time, They had some kind of problem with their banking and this is how it came about that they tried to cash them together. The cheque's were not guaranteed and in a matter of 4 days the bank presented each one 3 times, I got charged £40 per cheque per time they presented it plus £40 charge for everytime I exceeded my overdraft whilst they were doing this. In total I was charged in a week over £1500
I rang them & explained that I had banked with them so long & never been over my limit & the reason that it had happened, so they agreed as a 'goodwill' gesture to refund £200! I explained that this would obviously make all my bills bounce as my standing order would not be paid but it was a 'tough you should manage your account better' attitude. Since this happened all my bills have spiralled out of control & I am unable to get back on my feet as all the companies that hadnt got paid that month added interest & charges aswell as the bank.
In this case would you think that I had a case good enough to get my charges back as since this I have carried on incurring charges in excess of £3000 pounds!!
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
THIS WAS POSTED BY SOMEONE ELSE, IT'S NOT ME THANK GOD!!!!!
I sincerely hope you asked the permission of the original poster that you could post their personal info on another site! Or did they ask you to do it for them? They need to register here!
Have your friend follow the methods advised on this site to claim the charges back.
Furthermore, advise him/her to claim for any consequential losses and damages arising from the charges (loans/pawn interest, loss of earnings, loss of oppurtunity to invest funds, distress, inconvenience, etc)
