Hi I Am New Here I Am Trying To Claim Back Insurance Payments I Know Was Mis Sold To Me As I Have Not Worked Since 1979 Never Signed Any Thing Anybody Ever Had To Do This With Littlewoods And Got Their Money Back
Hi I believe there is a couple of people including myself that will be pursuing Littlewoods for PPI.
If you search further down this forum you should be able to find the Littlewoods threads.
You can certainly try and make a claim . But i'm not sure how far back you will be able to go. If you don't have the paperwork to hand then you will need to send off a Subject access request to get all your payment details. You can find a template for this in the sticky'sat the top of the page.
I would advise that you ask for the original CCA too
Once you have done this we can decide how you should proceed from there.

Claiming PPI is essentially reclaiming money which was paid under a mistake. The limitation period for a mistake is six years from the date on which you discovered the mistake.
When did you appreciate that you may have been mis-sold PPI? You have six years from that time to bring your claim -- and you can claim all the way back to the beginning.
If you want to reclaim PPI and you can prove that in some way you were mistaken -- either you didn't know that the policy existed, or that you believe the policy was relevant to your circumstances but it turned out not to be, or in some other way the policy was Missold to you so that it had no validity then you will be able to reclaim your money.
If you think you can prove your case then the best thing to do is to go to the county court and to seek restitutionary damages. This means that you require the company to disgorge all the profits which they made unjustly on the back of the money that they have taken from you. This can be quite a substantial sum and considerably more than you will be awarded by the Ombudsman

Did you make any claim on the PPI?
Did you receive any payment on any claim on PPI?
You can be specific with what data you request although the Subject Access Request is really asking for everything. The Statutory fee is £10.00 Postal Order is fine but keep the details of the number for future reference. The post office will be able to confirm when it was encashed (just call 01246 542091 they will even send written confirmation if you request it) Send all correspondence by at least recorded to be signed for so you can track delivery through Royal Mail
You should request the following documents:
A true copy of your Consumer Credit Agreement with the terms and conditions that were applicable at the time you took the loan/card/mortgage.
Copies of all statements applicable to the loan/card/mortgage.
Copies of all correspondence that apply to you as a data subject ie letters, emails, faxes etc.
Copies of all recorded telephone calls or transcripts of the recordings.
Copies of any notes made by bank/loan company staff in their dealings with you as a data subject.
Do not be fobbed off by them citing issues such as relevant filing systems.
If they have any records/data on you as a data subject and it is held under your name, address, post code, account number/s or any other system where the data is identifiable to you then it is a relevant filing system. Even if it is a specific serial number on microfiche records and the serial number is applicable to you.
The aim of the game is to get the data through SAR. Read the stickies at the top of the forum to see if you have a valid claim for mis-selling here is a link to help you.... PPI - Some Notes for Claimants..
there are many more links within this and some will be of value please take your time to read and learn before you start to reclaim you PPI money back.
If you have questions just post them up. Do not accept what you are told by the banks in letters they send, do some research, post questions and then submit your claim for mis-selling of PPI.
I had a battle royal with RBS, lots of misleading information and false information but I got a result repaid £10.5k since then nearly another £8k and working on four more plus a load of bank charges so do not give in and accept what the banks tell you fight them for every inch on the PPI front they are losing and losing very badly

Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

Best to try and ensure you get every scrap of data they hold on you.
If they come up with excuses then complain to the Information Commissioners Office about their failure to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Also keep up the pressure on them for mis-selling if you have a solid case.
