Hello All,

Can any one please help me on this issue?

My mother is a 66 year old, who has just spent the last 3 weeks in hospital due to high blood pressure. Since returning home she has been hassled by council lawyers for the sum of £60 she pays monthly.

Now the problem is that she cannot afford to pay this sum. I personally pay the £60, so as to reduce the amount of stress she is going through.

How can I get this amount reduced or even written off as she only receives The State pension?

Thanks

Ade

But unfortunately this was for Council tax for her shop she once owned

It would be business rates and not council tax.

To write off business rates you need to demsontrate to the council that it is in the interest of the tax payer to fund a business rates write off.

Yes I believe it may just well be Business Rates.

Would it then be possible to get the monthly amount reduced as her monthly income is far lower than the outgoings, and I'm talking about utility bills and basic necessities?
