Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi,
I am wondering if anybody can shed some light for me on consumer rights - if I have any or not!
Today I purchased a used car at a trade garage. I have paid the full amount on my bank card. Once I got home & worked out finances I realised I really couldn't afford it.
I am not yet in receipt of this car as the trader had said he would have a oil sensor renewed on Monday & I was to pick it up from there.
I have telephoned him this evening & explained to him my problem, he wasn't very amicable (as I had expected) & told me to ring back Monday as he was not in the office. He stated he had sent off the log book already with the new details & that it wasn't just a "cake".
I know this is my fault & I do understand I should have thought & looked more into my finances before paying for this vehicle.
But now I am wondering if anybody out there can give me any advice.
Thanks in advance, & I am sorry for being so so silly & having to waste your time.
