Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Well, spurred on by the fabulous information and support from this site I am determined to hold my bank (Barclays) to 'account' (!) over my incredulous charges.
So far I have calculated an approximate figure of £2000 from four years worth of kept statements. I was lucky enough to have them from divorce proceedings but I am missing two years, which with simple calculation will bring my total to £3000.
I have received initial communication from them, I accidentally omitted to include my £10 statutory fee, yet they have written to me informing me that they will process my request anyway!
I'm also starting the process with my one credit card, Barclaycard, and I currently stand at about £800. Once these are underway I am going to research my old mortgage company (Yep you've guessed it!) Barclays Mortgages, because not only did I incur massive charges, but these directly led to defaults on my credit record and is why I currently have a non-mainstream lender!
So I wanted to begin by saying a massive thankyou to everyone, I have done nothing but absorb information like a sponge and intend to give my support (financially and otherwise) as time goes on!
Ryjayel!
