Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I've just received my credit report, and it indicates that I default on Lloyds TSB who WILL remove it whether they like it or not, and Telewest.
In regards to telewest, I did this myself and am outstandinding $300 odd. When I pay this off, is it likely that I can get an HP agreement?
I'm struggling at the mo to get an HP agreement on a new car because mmy credit rating is shot to shyte thanks to this. OK I do admit, I did it, but I want to fix it.
Sorry but if your credit rating is bad it means that (in the past at least) you haven't been the best with money. Now do you honestly think an HP agreement is the best way forward? They will charge you some silly rate of interest and if you mess up then you are really going to screw up your credit rating
how else do I get a car for 6k? lol, that would take me 40 months to save up for, by that time the car is obsolete etc...
The pouint is I was bad with money and now having a girlfriend, I'm more discaplined Only problem is that we have 2 kids and its really causing hell in our lives not having a car.
Any Ideas?

I think Blacksheep was being a bit harsh in their comments to you, some people who have got themselves into difficulties do learn to be responsible I got myself into debt about 5 years ago and I would never do so now. Also my circumstances have changed a lot since then and if I wanted to I "could" afford to repay a loan.
Try and get your credit report cleaned up and try and get yourself a HP agreement with month repayments you can afford.
i can defo afford it,thats not the problem. I even told the HP company that I would pay 3 months in advance to start with, but the credit report says no
how do I get outta this one? Any ideas?

save up buy a cheaper car to get by until you save up enough to buy a better one - or till your credit files clean enough to buy what you want on HP - I'm desperate for a people carrier, especially with the new carseat laws coming in as three just dont fit in the back of my daewoo. My car was #1000 with a years MOT and Tax - its not mega old, a V reg - it will get me by until I can manage to get something bigger. And IMO the more expensive a car is the more it breaks down and the more it costs to get it fixed.
Just dont end up getting a 40% interest loan for people with bad credit because the credit will last longer than the car will (IMO)....
Or you could if you know of somebody who can spot a good car, go to a car auctions and get a car, we have done this twice, our current car (Mondeo) which needs to be replaced has done over 150,000 miles and it only cost us £3,500 (it had about 60,000 miles on it when we bought it) about 7 years ago. I reckon we saved about £2,000 getting it from the car auctions.
If the repayments go tits up on a better credit deal then you're still better off than on the more expensive one and if the girl does a runner (not saying she will) then on her head be it
im not fussed about anything going tits up as I have my own plc company. Also I would defo take insurance out and pay the first 3 months in advance as a gesture of good will.
