    Default Default or not default

I'm confused. I defaulted on credit card payments in 2003 and not continued paying them. However, my credit file keeps being updated with a new default every time the DCAicon which has "bought" the debt takes over the account.

Can they do this? Also, they appear to keep transferring the debt between sub-companies and therefore renewing the default date which means it will never drop off my credit file. Can they do this as well?

Any help would be much appreciated.

they seem to do whatever they want. There is no clear ruling and there is certainly no control.

Have you requested a copy of your CCA?

No I haven't yet requested a copy of the CCA because I'm new to this site (and all the great advice) but I was thinking that the debts may be over 6 yearsicon old now.

I thought you could only be in default once for an account.
