Hi,
Me and my boyfriend want to move out at the end of this month and get a flat together, he told me to check my credit file as I have had credit problems in the past but most are paid up or in the process of being paid up.
Anywho I have just done this on checkmyfile which shows you all 3 files and to my horror there are a number of searches made on me by various payday companies. Yes I have taken payday loans out in the past, and got into trouble with them but they are being paid off now, just wondering if I could contact the companies and ask them to remove thier search footprint, it's just that it looks really bad and I'm worried no landlord will accept me as a tenant with all these searches. The companies are wonga, fortress group uk (1 month loan/oasis) in time finance ltd (cash genie) cashnet usa (quickquid) and mem consumer finance. The last one by mem was paid in full well over a year ago, the others i pay each month accept for wonga who are still refusing to accept my monthly payments. Plus there is a search by Intek Communications who offered me a mobile phone on contract which i never took up.
Do i have the right to ask these searches to be removed, just wanted to know where i stood and if there were any letter templates to send to them?
Thanks x
Call credit is a mess, they have wrong details on my files, account being paid when I never had used them at all, and defaults and accounts all wrong....

same for me spent ages getting equifax and experian sorted and never thought about call credit, and its a mess, showing defaults with different comapnies for same thing etc and wrong dates on them.
Yes I think they should have to check with the person before they put these damning reports on your file. I can't get any further funding because Callcredit have such untrue information about me. I think I will report them to the fos or OFT or whoever, as surely they can't be allowed to do this, maybe someone on this forum can let me know, is this not the same as printing something in a newspaper about someone when it clearly is a lie

Report them to ICO as well, as these organisation are suppose to have only true and correct information on peoples reports. We all know that is is not the case but they seem to be getting away with, wonder why?????
