Default Sent Revenue Protection Support a cheque... They claim not to have received.

I had a fine of £16, which I sent to them by cheque after having failed to get through to them by phone.

I then receive a Final Notice letter adding an extra £20 "adminicon Charge" because I have supposedly failed to pay them. I have checked my account, and the money has not yet been taken out.

I have a photocopy of the cheque I sent with the date, and the cheque stub, but not recorded mail information. Can I still appeal this using only this information, or am I going to have to bite the bullet and accept that they screwed me over?

It was a train fine for not having a ticket on board the train.
I originally appealed this, the nature of which is unimportant now, but they rejected and told me I needed to pay.
So I sent the cheque first class, with a copy of their letter with my name and reference number on it. I have a photocopy of the cheque, and the stub, but there has been no activity on my account.

I have called them already. The phone operator told me they didn't receive anything and nothing has come out of my account, so the full amount stands, despite the fact that I have proof at least that the cheque was made out.

you could send them another cheque to sort the fine out and then ask them for a Breakdownicon of the 20 pound adminicon charge so you can be sure that you are not being over charged,

I completely agree with BB....get them to break down the charge, as it should reflect the true cost and not simply be a penalty....
