    Default Sold Faulty Van

    Hi,

My husband bought a second hand van from Fords in March 2009, which he paid £10,000 for on finance.
Then from May 2009 he has had no stop problems with the vehicle, electric, the warning lights comming on, speedo not working ect
As its still under warenty til April 2010, fords have agreed to fix the problems however we have taken the vehicle back to them 3 or 4 times for repairs and still the problem occurs they dont even know whats wrong i dont think. They have asked now for picture evidence once they got this they going to order a new part which as expensive fords for allow them to without evidence, so we have these pics now for them.

I was wondering if anyone knows where we stand in getting a full refund for the van as we seam to be getting no where with fords they are just throwing us from one person to another and all we want is a working reliable van for my husband to be able to work in?

I'm afraid you have had the vehicle too long now to reject. You should send a rejection letter within the first couple of weeks. You do, however, still have the right to replacement or repair.

The picture evidence may be because you are not explaining exactly what is happening or they cannot recreate the problem. If you can't see a problem, it is almost impossible to repair it.

You do not, on the otherhand, have to prove there is a fault. As you have owened the van for less than six months, it would be up to them to prove there was 'no' fault.

You should also ask them for a loan van so you can carry on with your business.

In spite of the above, you could try rejecting. This must be done in writing by listing all the problems you have had and the time it has been off the road because of these faults and either hand it to them personally or send it to them by recorded delivery mail.
