Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Recently bought a Mazda RX8 from Motor Nation. I was told that the car had a odemetre reading of 37500 miles but when it arrived a week later the car had done 45600 miles, this was proved via the MOT certificate as well. Motor Nation admitted their mistake & offered £150, which seems low because the mileage has increased by 20%.
First point is ignore the price and ask yourself would you have bought the car with that mileage anyway. If not then I would imagine that you are entitled to return the car for a refund as it was not as described.
A couple of car value guides give the difference as nearer £450 between the 2 mileages.
Go onto the Vauxhall web site, finance tab and the value your car section.
if it was me i would go through the cars history with a fine toothcomb, there are numerous recalls on rx8's and i would make sure they have all been done and the service history is spot on. its a lovely car but also very specialist, as are the spares prices!!
