Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Like Bank Charges, action required to resolve mass criminalisation
The mass criminalisation of innocent law abiding citizens by Transport for London is grossly unfair and damaging to the welfare and reputation of the victims. It is not uncommon for a prosecution witness to commit perjury and sadly, there is nothing more galling when the defendant is stitched up by his defence counsel.
It is reported that when Cherie Booth and Ken Livingstone failed to buy their tickets before travelling, they were not prosecuted. Yet, many passengers have been prosecuted and unjustly convicted when they have purchased their ticket but failed to swipe their oyster cards notwithstanding the fact that there was a fault on the card by not capping or that there was a faulty validator.
In a civilised society which this nation claim to be, could it be deemed a civilised behaviour to allow a public institution like TfL to act like highway robbers with the abuse of due process and undermining of the Rule of Law.
Although, Boris Johnson, mayor of London, promised to look into the matter during the election, regretably, he has reneged on his promise. Once again, the victims of this injustice appeal to him to uphold the Rule of Law and not allow London to descend into a state of anarchy by public institution which engages in profiteering.
