Hello. I wondered if anybody has any knowledge or experience relating to JSA claims and moving city?

I am currently in receipt of JSA and will soon need to move to the other end of the country due to my partner's education. Will I be able to "transfer" my claim etc. to my new location, or is that far too sensible?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks.

Yes, you can transfer your claim to a new area.

Contact the call centre in that area - find that out from the jobcentre local to your new home.

The way to cause the minimum of problems is to sign at your old office and then contact them on that day (you have two weeks to transfer but the quicker you are seen, the quicker the payments will be set up after the transfer claim is taken).

This may not be possible in your case depending on your signing day and moving date.
