Hi
I have a PD loan and have defaulted on the monies that were due.
I just wanted to ask a question....... will this affect my credit file or are they loathed to put this kind of information on there due to their ever shocking interest rates?
The loan is with Chequebook Loans - I have also been reading that they have tried to set up SO on various accounts, this has yet to happen to me - how long did it take after you defaulted for them to try this?
Thanks LL

These companies don't usually note credit files but no guarantee on this.
Chequebook loans will have the standing orders you completed at the application stage and they could take into a branch of your bank on any day that it suits. Your money if in bank could disappear the same day.
What are you looking to say on your letter, are you offering repayment plan?
I recently did a credit file check and I have 3 payday loans and none appear, I think they avoid putting this on your file however I have had threats of default notices. Cancel your debit card if possible as they usually take payments from your card, Can you not write to your bank and ask that no standing orders from this company be set up as their is a dispute on the debt. I have never used Chequebook loans so not sure how they work. Always avoid calling these companies and remember print not sign any letters.

I have their bank details to set up a payment plan. They have "yet" to send the SO to my bank though I have made them aware that it is not to be set up. At the end of the day if they try to take excess money out of my account I will get the bank to bounce it, get charged and take the charge off what I owed the loan company!
I do not know what offer of repayment I am going to make, will they accept anything?

Just advise your bank that the account is in dispute and make sure they refuse any transactions from this company. I would'nt be 100% they won't try anything whilst your away so is it possible to take your money out that you need for holiday now, better to have the cash then get to your holiday and find out chequebook loans have took your money, the bank would'nt be able to return anything untill mid next week if they did. I know with my Wonga account, they tried to take several amounts ranging from £5 to £250, as there was no money, the bank refused each one.

Well they have no idea that I am going away for 2 weeks and I have no plans to tell them this
I also experienced a PD loan company taking monies from my account only £20 but as soon as I stopped the card it was fine, was naieve the first time this happened and didnt think they would take any monies if the corret amount wasnt in the account - how wrong was I!
I am with Natwest and plan to send them a letter about this before I head off, would I need to send it to my branch or a HQ?
Thanks LL

I was also very naieve about them having my card details, soon got sorted though, I just don't want it to spoil your holiday. I am with HSBC and they offer a online messaging system, Does Natwest have this on their internet banking system? If not, I'd write to your local branch, I find things get dealt with a lot quicker this way.

Wow- I don't mean to sound funny- but these guys obviously helped you out of a tight spot- when you needed it. The charges are clearly stated- and no I dont work for them, I have however, previously been a customer. Had no problems as I stuck to my side of the agreement too. There are people with a much more urgent/genuine need on here- please just look at it from this point- Imagine YOU were OWED MONEY by somebody- they then chose to mess you around- oh and by the way- they are now off on holiday!!! Sorry if I offend but crikey- there are far worse con-artist comanies to be dealt with. Has this has simply ragged you as you tried to pull a stunt on them??? You don't seem to have given them much of a chance.
