I am currently with Atlantic Gas & Electric but they come under Scottish & Southern Energy. We are in the process of setting up a Fuel Direct Claim to clear arrears and suddenly a revised bill arrived with 3 x 'Collections' visits of £25 each plus VAT! When I queried this with them, they flatly refused to tell me who had been to my house (NOBODY!). Strangely the next day, somebody did arrive at the door (1st time ever!) and he left me with his calling card from SWALEC.

The bottom of the card says

SWALEC are trading names of the Scottish and Southern Energy Group of which SSE Energy Supply Limited and Southern Electric Gas Limited are members

ESSEX and SUFFOLK WATER seem to have a collecting agency called:
JAMES ALEXANDER in Lowestoft-Suffolk......

British Gas uses Central Recoveries (trading name of British Gas Trading Ltd).
They also use LCS Civil Enforcement but at the moment can't seem to find if it is in-house

EON are going to stop using ECS as a name for an internal DCA when the accounts currently in the process have been worked. Accounts that would have been handled by ECS are now going to be handled by Buchannan Clarke and Wells (BCW) who are a real DCA.

Utility Debt Services still deal with final accounts and are an in-house collections department

npower use Buchanan Clarke and Wells, Power to contact, ums, rich burns.
for live debt. DCA manager is Peter Cairns or Matthew keeble @npower, i know i spoke to him over a complaint

British Gas used Buchanan Clark and Wells - but my latest correspondence comes from Weightmans Commercial Recoveries (Law firm)

Hi new to the site....scot call is now resolvecall based in Glasgow;they are nasty stalking you incase you report them to the CSA;who basically do nothing.My question is are utility [dept which are disputed covered under the CCA 1974.....?
