Angry Yes Car Credit (Direct Auto Finance)

I bought a car From Yes Car Credit (YCC) on 16-6-04 and in total paid £2,685.28 in installments before they reposessed it in May 2005. The total finance deal was £10,539.36 in Finance and charges and £3,128.80 in Insurance and charges totalling £13,668.16. They generously gave me £1,000 part ex on my original car which was worth £2,600. When they reposessed the new car they sold it for £3,912. In total YCC had £2,685.28 in repayments, £3,912 for the reposessed car. (£6,597.20) They have issued Court procedings and claim £6,833.72 plus costs. The total (if they win) will be £13,431 for YCC and nothing for me. They reposessed the car before halves and thirds came into play, (I knew nothing about this deal, it had not been explained) and after recieving abusive, harrassing and threatening phone callsicon from YCC even before payments were due, (sometimes to extended members of family disclosing account details) It seemed a relief to see the car taken away. I believed this would be the end of it but on 17th October 2005 I recieved a demand for the full balance of £6,833.72. This company has neglected to inform me of the true nature of the agreement as it had been sold to me as simple car finance. They have not protected me as their customer and have been agressive on the phone and condecending, patronising and damn right rude. Can anyone advise me on what to do????? It just seems a total and ludicrous rip off and the consumer credit act of 1974 doesn't seem to apply because of the nature of their contract.
