Calders threatening to sell the debt! Is this good for me???
Hi all.
I have a 4k balance with BC.
Have tried CCA request many times with many letters.
No response apart from ts and Cs.
I did threaten to CPR them, but still no response.
I offered Mercers 25 per month. Rejected. Calders have called me. Same offer, same rejection.
Then they said today that by the end of the month, the debt would be sold.
Is this better for me? I mean, could I then put in a CCA request to the new DCA - they probably would not be able to produce it, becuase on the phone a few weeks ago, a BC operator told me they had no agreement, only my application form.
Should I let Calders just get on with selling the debt then, or do you advise me to pay 50 per month to stave this off?

Hi Blue,
You can't rely on anything said by BC or their DCA's over the phone. Avoid conversations completely and tell them to put anything in writing. Then hang up.
If they write to you, send an appropriate response using letters from the site. If you can't find a suitable one, shout and we'll help you.
You can either stop paying, because the a/c is In Dispute (BC won't agree that it is).
If you want to continue paying a reduced sum, you may have to supply a schedule of income and expenditure to show what you can afford.

If they sell the debt, then it's up to the new company to produce your CCA upon request or.... for you to tell them that a request has already been made and therefore, the account remains in dispute.
Seeing as it doesn't look like they've got one, there isn't much to worry about IMO...
