Sent SAR with P/Order but they say not received payment
Hi all,
I sent Barclaycard a SAR (with a view to reclaiming credit card charges,) by recorded delivery with a £10 postal order enclosed on 20th July.
Today I have received a letter from them (dated 27th July) stating that £10 is required before they can make the data available, and that once payment received the data will be sent within the 40 day legal time scale.
With this they have also returned my original letter, dated as received by them on 23rd July.
I have a receipt for my postal order, which had Barclaycard written across the front of it, as well as receipt for the recorded delivery.
Any advice on what to do from here would be appreciated.
Re: Sent SAR with P/Order but they say not received payment
Hi BChaser,
I just read this on another thread (thanks to Alanalana) :-
The post office will be able to confirm if a Postal Order has been encashed (just call 01246 542091 they will even send written confirmation if you request it).
If the PO has been encashed, get confirmation of this from the PO and send it to BC saying they are wrong and they should supply your data without further delay.
If the PO has NOT been encashed, get a refund from the PO and send a new one to BC.
This is NOT a delaying tactic from my experience, so just do what you have to and get your claim underway.
