    Hiya,

It is possible you are striking lucky and they have mislayed you!

From what I can see elsewhere and with my own experience they are certainly still pursuing many folk quite hard so this seems to be the only explanation to me!

It seems your choice is to sit tight and wait to see if they contact (not of course advocating any form of avoidance and you would need to use the time to get prepared with a realistic proposal to repay/dispute the charges) or be pro-active and chase them down with this and keep using the fact that you pursued them (honourable, demonstrates wish to repay debt etc).

Either way, best of luck and keep folk posted

They will contact you soon enough.
Please keep check on your bank account as even though they havent contacted you they will keep trying to take the money out even after the specified day.

I had this happen to me on contacting someone high up got it repaid.

I now have a payment arrangement with them which seems to working out fine. If I have a problem I go to the top!

Am doing this with most of my debts now as I am fed up with dealing with the little people.

If you are worried about not hearing from them email them and explain your situation.

Other than that sit tight they will contact you eventually. Keep an eye on your account with Wonga as they may still be adding interest, have you logged onto your account with them to see what it says?

Just had a new loan accepted, no apparent problems. Rates seem to be much more reasonable than the likes of PayDayUK etc....and no I don't work for them !

    Hi Yorkmackem,

It is okay to express a positive opinion - does not mean you have to work for them!

Your positives would be contrary to the experience of many (rather like DCAs) but good luck to you - if you are using it for a short term problem and can 100% definetly pay back when due or before then as you say they are potentially one of the better amongst a bad lot in this sector!

Main thing I think is to have a "what if I can't pay it back ...." plan (without getting another loan as one of the solutions). I started my decent into chaos and despair in this sector certain I could pay one back before it was due and none of them are in any way forgiving when "stuff happens....."

    All the best

    Hi
I have a loan out with Wonga. Have been indebted for a while. Get a loan pay it back get another loan. Last month I had no money to pay back and did not want to extend as I could not afford to. Now I am receiving emails form them and have been emailing back. I request that they phone me to discuss repayments. They asked for my number which they already have as it end the pin number.
But still no call and interest is accum every day is this normal from them.

yes this is the normal for Wonga. Wonga charge interest daily. I took out a loan in January for £250 and by May, it stood at £644. They will not talk to you via email, they will always email back to say Please call us. DO NOT call them, they will pressure you and read of their script to scare you into paying, so do not, do not and do not ring them. They will try ring you and send letters to your home address. They also have a solicitors called Djambe somethng, dont worry, its just another company under Wonga's name. I went to CCCS and went on a debt managment plan, unfortunalty I was unable to keep my payments up and I now have a debt relief order so my Wonga debt's will be wiped out in a years time aslong as my circumstances do nto improve. Just keep emailing and avoid ringing/talking to them. Things will get worse before they get better, the good news is, I am still sat waiting for their baliff to come and visit as promised Think I might go make a brew.

I have no intention of paying the extra charges or interest that they are added.
And have told them via email that i have had difficulties and need them to work out a sensible repayment plan it this a an option with them.

    Hi Camuser,

They did (with some persistance) accept a 12 month repayment plan from me but at the moment this includes their "charges" (£200 turned into over £300 in a matter of what seemed like hours!

I guess best thing is to persist with the repayment plan approach and once this set you can argue the charges! I would not say they are reasonable but did respond to a consistent approach in terms of repayment plan.

    Best of luck

just got phone call from them
happy to set up repayment plan but way in excess of what i can afford.
kept banging on about i knew the charges and interest when i signed up.
any i dea how long they wait to sell on to debit recovery.
I feel these charges are going to go through roof.
£600 now over £800 in space of couple of weeks so god knows what it will be in months.
But i am adament that i will only pay the £600 will keep you posted

My debt went from January to June with no contact other then emails, then they started sending emails from their "DCA" which is just a fake company set up by Wonga. Unfortunalty the interest rate and charges are agreed when you took out the loan, you could complain to Trading Standards under unfair rates like I did, they froze the interest for me as I was under special circumstances.
